TRAVEL ALERT -- UPDATE April, 2008

There is a temporary bridge over the Tahuya River at the site of the earlier washout. See http://www.co.mason.wa.us/public_works/road_closures.php for up to date information so that you can plan your travel accordingly.

Below are pictures of the washout at the Tahuya River after the winter storms.

Information on Gates: Please read the note mailed to all members about the installation of the gates in our community. There have been further communications with all members via email. If you are not receiving these communications, and would like to, please let the Board know your email address.

Paths to the DNR Trails: There has been a significant change in the HOA stance on paths into the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) trail system since the December letter was mailed to you. Extensive legal advice has made it clear that the HOA Board cannot put the membership and Board in the position of implicitly advocating the use of illegal, unsanctioned DNR paths. (Both paths, on lot 17, and the one between lots 10 and 11, are illegal trails, and not built nor maintained by the DNR.) The DNR has decided to permanently close the existing two trails, in accordance with RCW 46.09.120(1)(i).

We can send you an email to let you know when the new Newsletter is posted.

Scotch Broom: Keep vigilant about pulling up the Scotch Broom around your lot, and along the road! We have a new Interview with Julie Wolf, who is our local Scotch Broom expert!

Here's what it looks like in April when flowering, and later with seed pods formed.
